Caramel Apple Bites

Bake these delicious tarts made using Pillsbury™ Simply...™ refrigerated buttermilk biscuits and apples – perfect dessert to treat a crowd. MORE + LESS -

Ingredients

can (12 oz) Pillsbury™ Simply...™ refrigerated buttermilk biscuits

tablespoons butter
2
cups chopped peeled Granny Smith apples (2 medium)
1/2
teaspoon apple pie spice

tablespoons packed brown sugar

caramels, unwrapped
2
tablespoons whipping cream

    Heat oven to 350°F. Separate dough into 10 biscuits; reserve 2 biscuits for another use. Cut remaining 8 biscuits in half. Press into 16 ungreased mini muffin cups.

    Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until golden brown. Cool 2 minutes; remove from pans to cooling racks. Cool completely, about 15 minutes. Cut 1-inch slit in top of each biscuit.

    In 10-inch skillet, melt butter over medium-high heat. Add apples and apple pie spice; cook 5 minutes or until apples are tender. Sprinkle with sugar; cook 2 minutes or until mixture is syrupy. Spoon over biscuits.

    In small microwavable bowl, microwave caramels and whipping cream uncovered on High 1 minute, stirring occasionally, until melted and smooth. Drizzle over apples. Serve warm.

Expert Tips

  • For a less tart treat, use a sweeter apple, such as Rome or Braeburn.
