New England Mulled Cider

quarts (8 cups) apple cider

cup firmly packed brown sugar
1/2
teaspoon cardamom
1/2
teaspoon nutmeg
2
cinnamon sticks
Peel from 1 orange

    In large saucepan, combine all ingredients. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer 30 minutes. Remove cinnamon sticks and orange peel. Keep warm in hot pot or coffee pot.
