This pie is delicious with a dollop of whipping cream to top it. Or serve with a small mound of softened vanilla ice cream.
The juiciness of pears varies quite a bit. If the pears are dripping juice when you slice them, use thicker slices with 2 tablespoons of flour. If they are firm and dry, slice them thinly and use only 1 tablespoon of flour.
