Red Velvet Mug Cakes

Ingredients

cup Original Bisquick™ mix
3
tablespoons unsweetened baking cocoa
1/2
cup sugar
1/3
cup canola oil
1/2
cup milk
2
eggs
1/2
teaspoon vanilla
Red food color, as needed
Cream cheese frosting or sweetened whipped cream, if desired

    In medium bowl, beat all ingredients except frosting until well combined. Spray insides of 2 large coffee mugs with cooking spray. Divide batter equally into mugs.

    One at a time, microwave each mug uncovered on High 2 to 3 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Serve warm or cool with frosting or whipped cream.

Expert Tips

  • Like any cake, these mug cakes will rise and expand. Therefore, choose your mug wisely! Leave plenty of room for expansion, and only fill each mug roughly two-thirds full.
  • Not a fan of food dyes? Leave it out! Red food color makes these cakes a lovely shade, but in no way affects the flavor.
