GRILL DIRECTIONS: Heat grill. Alternately thread sausage, bread and squash evenly onto four 12 to 14-inch metal skewers. In small bowl, combine melted garlic spread and parsley. Brush mixture over kabobs.

When ready to grill, place kabobs on gas grill over medium heat or on charcoal grill 4 to 6 inches from medium coals. Cook about 6 minutes or until vegetables are tender and bread is golden brown, turning once.

Expert Tips

  • To broil, place kabobs on broiler pan; broil 4 to 6 inches from heat using times above as a guide.
  • Garlic spread is a blend of garlic and cheese that’s delicious on meats, vegetables and breads. Look for garlic spread in the refrigerated section of the supermarket.
  • In place of the milk Italian sausage, sue your favorite type of cooked sausage, such as bratwurst or hot Italian sausage.
  • Introduce your kids to spicy-sweet flavors, their style. Use hot dogs in hot dog buns topped with pineapple chunks and brush grilled hot dogs with honey-mustard sauce.
