  • 1
Heat oven to 350°F. Spray 3-quart casserole with cooking spray. In 3-quart saucepan, cook and drain pasta as directed on package using minimum cook time. Return pasta to saucepan.
  • 2
While pasta is cooking, cook sausage and onion in 10-inch skillet over medium heat 6 to 8 minutes, stirring occasionally, until sausage is no longer pink; drain. Stir sausage mixture, bell pepper, water, bacon, pizza sauce and mushrooms into pasta. Spoon pasta mixture into casserole. Sprinkle with cheese.
  • 3
Cover casserole. Bake 30 to 35 minutes or until hot and cheese is melted.

Expert Tips

  • If pizza cheese unavailable, use equal parts of mozzarella and Cheddar.
  • Be sure to thoroughly drain the cooked pasta--a few hard shakes of the colander after the water drains will help. Excess cooking water clinging to the pasta will dilute the sauce.
  • Do you like Pavarotti? Ellington? Vivaldi? Not sure? Choose a night of the week to accompany dinner with some new tunes. Investigate a style of music you'd like to know better. Borrow CDs from the library, or dust off some forgotten selections from your own collection.
