Shell Pasta Chili Special

Ingredients

lb. lean ground turkey

cup chopped onion

garlic cloves, minced

(28-oz.) can whole round tomatoes, undrained, cut up

(1.25-oz.) pkg. chili seasoning mix
2 1/2
oz. (1 cup) uncooked medium shell pasta

cups water
2
teaspoons prepared mustard
1
cup purchased coleslaw blend

    Crumble ground turkey into large saucepan; add onion and garlic. Cook over medium-high heat until turkey is no longer pink, stirring frequently. Drain.

    Add all remaining ingredients except coleslaw blend; mix well. Reduce heat; simmer 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.

    Add coleslaw blend; stir gently to mix. Simmer an additional 5 minutes or until cabbage is tender.

Expert Tips

  • Ground turkey has less fat and a milder flavor than ground beef. It’s highly perishable, so use it or freeze it the day of purchase. To freeze, package it in individual 1/4-pound patties so you can easily thaw the exact amount you need.
