Sweet-and-Saucy Ham Sandwiches

Ingredients

1 1/2

lb cooked smoked ham, ground (4 cups)

cup packed brown sugar

1/2

cup Dijon mustard

1/4

cup chopped green bell pepper

tablespoon instant minced onion

can (20 oz) crushed pineapple in juice, undrained

burger buns, split

In 3 1/2- to 6-quart slow cooker, mix all ingredients except buns.

Cover; cook on Low heat setting 3 to 4 hours.

Remove cover from slow cooker. Increase heat setting to High; cook, uncovered, 10 to 15 minutes longer or until desired consistency.

To serve, stir ham mixture well; spoon into buns.

Expert Tips

If your butcher can't grind the ham for you, use a food processor to finely chop the ham instead of grinding it. Or finely chop the ham with a chef knife the night before to save time in the morning.
