Boozy Valentine Hand Pies

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Cascadian Farm™ frozen organic blueberries or strawberries
  • 2 tablespoons bourbon
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 box (14.1 oz) refrigerated Pillsbury™ Pie Crusts (2 Count)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 tube (0.67 oz) Betty Crocker™ decorating gel blue or red

    Preheat oven to 375°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

    In a medium bowl, combine frozen fruit, bourbon, sugar, and cornstarch. Stir until well mixed, then set aside.

    Cut each of the two pie crusts into 8 hearts, using a 3-4 inch heart-shaped cookie cutter.

    Spoon 1/4 cup of the fruit into the center of four of the hearts. Try not to get any of the juices onto your pie crust.

    Place a second heart on top of the fruit mixture, press the edges firmly to seal, then use a fork to create a decorate border around the edges. Transfer to a baking sheet.

    Bake pies for 10-14 minutes, or until golden brown. Remove from oven and transfer immediately to a cooling rack, using a knife to trim off any runny fruit remnants, if needed. Allow to cool slightly.

    In a small bowl, whisk together powdered sugar and milk (add more milk, if needed, to create a thick-but-runny glaze). Tint to desired color using Betty Crocker™ food coloring gels. Transfer frosting to a plastic bag, snip the corner from each bag, and drizzle over hand pies.
