This rich, delicious dessert is perfect for a fall evening. Serve with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.

Ingredients

apples, peeled, cored and sliced

tbsp sugar

tsp cinnamon

tsp cloves
Pinch of salt

cup uncooked oats (not instant)

cup flour
1/4
cup light brown sugar
1/4
cup salted butter

Directions

  • 1 Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • 2 In a medium bowl, combine the apples, sugar, cinnamon, cloves and salt. Toss until well-combined.
  • 3 Add the apples to a deep oval baking dish. Spread out into an even layer.
  • 4 In a small bowl, stir together the oats, flour and brown sugar. Set aside.
  • 5 Heat the butter in a small pan until melted. Continue swirling over a medium flame until the butter turns a golden brown color. Remove from heat and stir into the oats mixture until well combined.
  • 6 Sprinkle the oats mixture over the apples.
