Remember when you were little, unpacking your lunchboxes in the cafeteria, everyone compared what your moms had packed for you that day?
I remember it was a good day for me if I got one of those small pre-packaged brownies as my treat. Then there was always my friend who looked longingly at our treats only to pull, once again, raisins out of his lunch as his dessert. I had one friend, whose mom was apparently a baker, who would always have a freshly baked cookie or some other confection as her treat. I was so green with envy.
I was the youngest of ten kids, so I’m sure by the time my mom packed my lunch for the millionth time in her life, whipping up a batch of cookies as treat wasn’t in the cards. And now that I’m a mom myself, I’m just happy if I remember to put drinks in my kid’s lunchboxes.
But these Cinnamon Toast Crunch Bars
are so easy, you can surprise your kids with a special treat without much effort at all.
Of course we all have had the traditional cereal based chewy marshmallow treats, but these take the bars to a whole new level using Cinnamon Toast Crunch. Just melt a little butter and marshmallows in a pan and add in the cereal.
Press the gooey mixture down firmly into a pan and you’re done!
The hint of cinnamon in the cereal adds so much to the marshmallow buttery flavor. Mom of the year right here for making the best lunch box treats in the whole wide world!
