Mardi Gras Cat Cookies

Chocolate-coated cat sugar cookies dressed for the parade with candy beads!

Ingredients

(17.5 oz.) pouch of Betty Crocker™ sugar cookie mix
1
tablespoon flour (for cookie mix)
1
egg (for cookie mix)
1/3
cup butter, softened but not melted (for cookie mix)

(12 oz.) bag dark chocolate candy coating wafers
Green and purple pearl candies

yellow M&M's™ milk chocolate candies

purple confetti sprinkles

Directions

  • 1 Preheat oven to 375º F. Prepare cookie mix according to package instructions.
  • 2 Roll dough and cut into 24 circle shapes using circle cookie cutter. Bake 7-9 minutes. Cool cookies completely before decorating.
  • 3 Melt candy coating according to package directions. Dip the cookie in the melted coating until completely submerged. Lift out with fork and tap against the container to remove excess coating.
  • 4 Carefully slide the coated cookie onto parchment paper to set.
  • 5 While cookie is still wet, place an alternating line of green and purple pearl candies along the bottom edge of the cookie for the necklace. Place 2 chocolate chips on top of the cookie for the ears.
  • 6 Color the middle of 2 yellow M&M’S™ with the black edible marker to make the iris part of each eye, and place eyes on top of the cookie.
  • 7 Place a purple confetti sprinkle in the middle of the cookie for the nose. Let cookie dry completely.

The little plastic baby has got nothing on these cute cookies so let’s get the party started!.

Cute little kitty cookies, dipped in rich dark chocolate, completed with their own string of candy beads. They’re just screaming for a Mardi Gras celebration!

Here’s how you make ‘em.

Grab some Betty Crocker Sugar Cookie Mix and follow the package directions to prep your dough.

Roll out the dough and cut into circle shapes using a cookie cutter. Bake and cool the cookies before decorating.

Melt the chocolate candy coating.

Dip your cookies and lift out with a fork. Tap the side of your container to get rid of the excess candy coating.

Now carefully slide your cookie off of the fork and onto parchment or wax paper.

Before they dry, add some purple and green candy pearls to the bottom of the cookies for the beaded necklace.

Next, add chocolate chips for the ears.

Color in the middle of the yellow candy-coated chocolate pieces for the eyes with an edible marker and put them on top of the cookie.

Put a purple confetti sprinkles in the middle of the cookie for the nose. Now let the cookies dry completely.
