S’mores in seconds -- with no campfire. Now, that’s our kind of camping treat!
I’m not sure why I didn’t think of this before, but the discovery of Microwave S’mores
was my waistline’s downfall. I mean s’mores in a few seconds? Really. Trouble I tell ya. But the best kind of trouble.
I love s’mores but absolutely despise the camping part that comes with them. Even standing by the fire to get the marshmallow ooey and gooey is rough cuz my clothes smell all smokey afterwards. Yes, clearly I am high maintenance. I know this and accept it. Doesn’t mean I don’t deserve s’mores.
These have a little extra something with the addition of Fiber One 80 Calorie Chocolate Cereal. I wanted a little crunch to my s’mores, so in went the cereal. I almost used Golden Grahams to give it more graham flavor but then came to my senses and was like, “Add more chocolate, woman!” So I did. But feel free to use whatever cereal you would like.
To make the Microwave S’mores:
Gather up your ingredients.
Break the graham cracker in half. Place the marshmallow on top of the graham cracker.
Put in microwave for 12-15 seconds on a microwave-safe plate.
The ‘mallow will get very large. Allow it to shrink down a little.
Add cereal pieces (you can do whatever variety you would like) and top with chocolate.
Add the remaining graham cracker half to the top of the chocolate.
Smoosh down and enjoy.
And there you have it -- s’mores any time you want ’em…without heating up the kitchen or making a campfire!Peabody loves ice hockey (she plays!) and all things baking! Check out her great stuff at her blog site Culinary Concoctions by Peabody and her Tablespoon profile.
