    Ingredients

    • 1 (20 ounce) can pure pumpkin
    • 1 (12 ounce) can evaporated milk
    • 3 whole eggs
    • 1 cup white sugar
    • 3 teaspoons cinnamon
    • 1 (18.25 ounce) Betty Crocker Supermoist yellow cake mix
    • (optional)  1 cup chopped pecans
    • 3/4 cup butter, melted

    Directions

    1. 1Preheat oven to 350 degrees and grease a 9x13 baking dish.
    2. 2In a large bowl, mix pumpkin, milk, eggs, sugar, and cinnamon until well blended. Spread pumpkin mixture in prepared baking dish. Mixture will be very wet.
    3. 3Sprinkle cake mix evenly on top of the batter. If adding pecans, sprinkle them over the cake mix. Pour melted butter over the top of the cake mix. Bake 50 minutes.
    4. 4Cool. Top with whipped cream or ice cream.

    @Tweety3, I think fresh pumpkin would work great!
    @Millie101, you do not have to prepare the cake mix. Just sprinkle it on dry and pour the melted butter evenly over it.

    I've made what we call a pineapple dump cake...can of crused pineapple juice and all into 9x13 pan then a yellow cake mix...then sprinkle coconut..finely chopped walnuts then cover top with pats of butter...bake at 350o for 30 min...really good!!
