Great Reciepe, I absolutly loved it! I had tried making powdered sugar frosting befor with egg whites but it turned out totally runny and wasn't good at all, but go figure you have to beat eggs alone first until stiff, and boy what a difference that made! Thank you so much, it taste's like marshmellows and my son loves it!

I can remember my Grandmother making custard that was made from whipped raw egg whites and boiling the yoke with other ingredients (like a cream soup) then folded in the whipped whites, was very yummy and we never got sick from it. Also my brother drinks a few raw eggs every morning (YUCK!) His hair is so shiny and soft. But he's into lifting weights and the raw eggs help somehow...kinda scary now a days but when I was a kid you never heard of salmonella or any of that actually happening.

They may have an alergy to eggs. I would think the yolk is what is bad. My mom, for many years made a marshmellow frosting all from scratch and used egg whites. No one ever got sick. I think that if you think about the eggs being raw in the recipe it will psych you to the point of being sick.

Hi everyone! Thanks for all your insight regarding the use of egg whites. Two precautions that might help moving forward: 1) Be sure to keep the final product refrigerated and not leave the icing sitting out and 2) If you're concerned about using egg whites, I would recommend a pasteurized egg product as a substitute. I hope this helps!

i would have to agree with the person who talked about the butter baths. butter really works for everything, i use it as lotion and i drink a pint of it every day. It really does help for constapation!

ok first of all you have really bad grammar and that is sad. But i will credit you with your comment on how people get sick from egg whites, i know one person who got very sick. i actually tried this recipie and it is very gross, i felt sick after words, it could have been the egg whites.

Egg whites will not harm you. If that really is an issue, you can purchase pasturized egg whites in a carton in the grocery store OR, purchase egg white powder at a bakery supply store.

Is this really safe to eat, the raw eggs? Seriously. Doesn't it dry hard and crackly? Hate to waste the pow. sugar if it's not safe.
