We Turned a Can of Soup into Dinner for Two—Twice

Created July 3, 2019
Never underestimate the power of the can.

Let’s talk about dinner for a minute. Specifically, dinner on a Thursday. You can see the weekend on the horizon, but it’s not quite here yet. You’re tired, you’ve had a busy week and so has your spouse. Even though all you want to do is curl up with a cozy, comforting and filling dinner, you sure don’t feel like fussing around in the kitchen for the time it would take to make that happen.

Alright—now let’s talk about canned soup. Specifically, Progresso™. It’s tasty, it’s made with good ingredients and it comes in a slew of flavors. But soup for dinner? Trust us, with a few clever additions and just a few more minutes at the stove, you could be looking at a couple of bowls of pure cozy on a Thursday night instead of the usual.

Easy Mulligatawny Soup for Two

Here’s the scoop: we took Progresso Traditional Chicken Noodle and Progresso Lentil and turned both of them into a comforting and cute dinner for two. Each recipe uses only one pot, and both are done in under 25 minutes. They each start with a little sautéing (ginger, garlic, onion and other tasty additions) until your kitchen fills with the smell of success. Then in goes the can of soup with a few new friends for flavor. Finally, each bowl is finished with a touch of something green to brighten up your weeknight win. So, are you ready for canned soup to rock your dinner world?
