3 Fab Foil Packs for the Grill

3 Fab Foil Packs for the Grill
Three tasty meat and veggie foil-pack combos to make your grill smile.

Instead of a hamburger this weekend, grill up a creative meal in foil instead!

So, summer’s here and it’s grilling time.

Let me paint a picture for you: A hot sunny day, cold beer, and a grill covered in mysterious foil packs.

Sure, it’s not your classic hamburger and hot dog party, but foil packets are a great way to cook almost anything on the grill. You can use them to make up individual meals for people, or to grill up side dishes for a larger meal.

If you aren’t wrapping food in foil and grilling it, you’re just not succeeding at summer!

The options are endless, so here are three very different foil packs to experiment with:

1. Tex-Mex Grilled Foil Pack

I think this foil pack is best as a side dish. It’s spicy and packs a punch.

What you need:

Basically just toss together sweet corn (frozen or fresh) and black beans (drained and rinsed) and stir in some jalapeno, red onion, queso fresco, and Old El Paso™ taco seasoning.

Wrap that all up in a well-sealed foil packet and toss it on the grill for 8-10 minutes per side. This would be great as a healthier side to grilled pork!

2. Smoked Turkey Sausage Foil Pack

This has less ingredients than the Tex-Mex version and is way easier to make. It’s also almost a meal in itself.

While you could serve it as a side, I could also see just moving this from the grill to a plate and eating it all by myself! What you need:

While you could use any smoked sausage, I wouldn’t recommend using uncooked. I used turkey sausage just to lighten it up a bit, but any cooked sausage would work great.

Add some frozen garden veggies, olive oil and salt and pepper to the mix and you’re done!

3. Shrimp and Veggie Foil Pack

This is a very different beast. Think beach time!

This is another one that you could serve as a meal or as a side dish. What you need:

Old Bay™ seasoned shrimp and bright veggies grilled with lemon slices. It’s so fresh and wonderful!

Just make sure to buy good shrimp with the shell on so they don’t overcook and turn rubber.

Go ahead and buy the jumbo pack of foil this summer. You’re going to need it!
