Ingredients

  • 1 cup white rice
  • 2 cups water

Steps

  • 1
Pour the water into the saucepan and bring it to boil over medium high heat.
  • 2
Once the water is at a boil, slowly add rice into the sauce pan. Bring back up to a boil at medium high. Then reduce heat to low.
  • 3
Cover the pan with a tight lid and let it simmer for 20 minutes. The tight lid will keep in the steam, cooking your rice evenly. Resist the urge to lift the lid and peep at the rice until the simmer time is up. Once the set time is up, turn off the heat.
  • 4
Let the rice stand for about 10 minutes to absorb all the water.
  • 5
Fluff the rice with a fork and serve it warm.
