This is the treasure that the leprechaun has been hiding at the end of the rainbow all these years. Inspired by Food Republic’s Gold Rush Cocktail recipe, this smooth bourbon whisky pairs perfectly with the sweet and tart apple soda, and the bright orange juice brings everything together. The real fun in this cocktail though, is the thick gold sprinkles that are much bigger than normal rimming sugar and add a nice crunchy bite to each sip. Fresh squeezed orange juice is essential to the drink. It sort of wakes up the other ingredients. A tasty twist on a classic gold rush cocktail, this drink has everything you need to make your St. Patrick’s Day party a real winner!

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup fresh squeezed orange juice
  • 1/3 cup bourbon
  • 1/2 cup apple soda
  • Gold sprinkles
  • Ice

Instructions

  • Step

    Rub orange juice around the rim of the glasses. Put the gold sprinkles onto a plate. Dip your glasses rim down onto the plate to rim the glass with the sprinkles. Add ice to the glasses.

    Put ice into a shaker and add your orange juice and bourbon. Shake vigorously. Top with the apple soda and stir. Strain into your glasses and serve.
