More About This Recipe

  • Sandie, my mom-in-law, introduced me to Cocktail Crackers, a wonderful little savory munchable.  They are one of my all-time favorite cocktail accompaniments – savory, and just the perfect size for conversational noshing.

Even after the highball glasses are washed and put away, Cocktail Crackers remain a staple at our house.  They are brilliant with a cup of soup, and a natural for run-of-the-mill snacking.  My 13-year old stepson can put away a gallon bag full in a day - literally.  A double batch made for last year’s family cabin trip disappeared almost instantly upon arrival at the lake.

However, on the off chance you find yourself with extra, Cocktail Crackers make a cute “thank you” when packaged in individual treat bags tied with a ribbon.

Here is the best part: you have never seen such an easy recipe.  E-A-S-Y!  No cooking!  Five ingredients:

    Dry ranch dressing
    Garlic powder
    Dill
    Corn oil
    Oyster crackers

Literally mix the oil and seasoning, add the crackers, and toss.  Two minutes, tops!  (And, since actual ingredients are measured and combined, this recipe meets my somewhat liberal standards to qualify as “homemade”!)  Once mixed, the crackers need to stand for a couple hours (or ideally overnight) before serving, in order to fully absorb the seasonings.

Hope you enjoy these as much as we do!
