Heath™ Bar Chex™ Mix

Sweet, chocolaty Chex™ mix, packed with chunks of real Heath™ bars and crunchy roasted almonds, is one party snack that’s sure to disappear fast. Thank goodness this recipe makes loads. (Who knows—you might even decide to share.)

Ingredients

  • 9 cups Rice Chex™ cereal
  • 3 cups semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 bag (8 oz) Heathtoffee bits
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 8 Heathbars, coarsely chopped
  • 1 cup salted roasted almonds

    Into large bowl, measure cereal; set aside. Line 18x13-inch rimmed sheet pan with cooking parchment paper.

    In medium microwavable bowl, microwave chocolate chips uncovered on High 1 minute; stir. Continue microwaving in 30-second intervals until chocolate is melted and can be stirred smooth. Pour melted chocolate over cereal; add toffee bits, and stir until evenly coated. Pour into sheet pan; spread out into even layer. Refrigerate 20 to 25 minutes or until chocolate is set.

    Break up chocolate-covered cereal into small clusters. Sift 1/4 cup of the powdered sugar over chocolate clusters, and gently toss. Sift remaining 1/4 cup powdered sugar over top, and gently toss once more to coat clusters. Mix with chopped bars and almonds. Store in airtight container.

Expert Tips

  • Chopped toasted pecans would be a nice substitute for the roasted almonds in this recipe.
  • For a deeper chocolate flavor, substitute bittersweet chocolate for the semisweet.
