More About This Recipe
  • This happy little pink drink is a must for your next girls' night. And it even has a noble agenda. In support of Breast Cancer Awareness month, we’ve whipped up something special. And something pink, of course! Everyone’s favorite red velvet flavor gets turned into a cocktail and blended up bright pink. This quick and simple party drink makes a seriously important statement: Breast cancer is everyone’s fight. So bring out the blender, pull together your donation pennies, and whip up this wildly delicious cocktail while getting your friends and family involved in fundraising efforts. All the women in your life will thank you! This yummy, adorable cocktail begins with a bright-pink rim of sparkly sugar. You’ll find extra large crystals in the cake-baking section of your local craft store. Or, skip the extra errand and grab a bottle of Betty Crocker pink sprinkles next time you go to the grocery store! And now for the fun part. Grab everything you need to blend up this delicious cocktail quick. The idea behind this recipe is to use cake-flavored vodka, but I’m fawning over our local vanilla custard vodka so I grabbed a bottle of that, instead. But you use cake or vanilla or marshmallow or whatever flavored vodka makes you happy. You’ll also need some vanilla Yoplait yogurt (for extra creaminess!), a smidgen of vanilla (or my favorite – vanilla bean paste!) and red or neon pink Betty Crocker food coloring to get that special color. The other secret ingredient: Freeze-dried strawberry powder. I am absolutely addicted to this stuff. You can buy it online and blend it into your cocktails and smoothies for serious all-natural strawberry powder. Or, make your own by pulsing freeze-dried strawberries in a food processor. If this is all sounding impossible for your busy daily schedule, a pack of strawberry pudding or gelatin powder will work too. Finally, pop everything into the blender with ice and blend. Garnish with a candy stick, and you’re all ready to get your cocktail on. Happy Pink Drink!
