Slow-Cooker Taco-Spiced Turkey

Ingredients

package (1 oz) Old El Paso™ taco seasoning mix
1/4
cup honey

tablespoons butter, melted

turkey breast half (about 2 1/2 lbs)

cup chicken broth

    Stir taco seasoning mix and honey into melted butter. Rub under and over skin of turkey breast. Place on foil-lined rimmed cookie sheet. Refrigerate at least 1 hour but no longer than 12 hours.

    Pour chicken stock into a 5- to 6-quart slow cooker. Place turkey in cooker.

    Cover; cook on high heat setting for 2 1/2 hours or 5 hours on low heat setting or until juice of turkey is clear when center of thickest part is cut (at least 165°F). Remove from cooker and let turkey stand, covered with foil, 10 minutes. To serve, cut turkey crosswise into slices.

Expert Tips

  • If desired, use juices and chicken broth in slow cooker to make a gravy for the turkey breast.
