Hey there, Hot Dog! Look at you cookin' good lookin'!


When it comes to grill time around Memorial Day, everybody knows the basics. Burgers, chicken, hot dogs.

It can all be a little bit blah-blah-bland if you're not careful.

But, of course, we know you. You're careful. You can't bear the thought of hosting your neighbors with a little BYOBlahhhh. Which is why you want to pep up the usual offerings. Turn those dogs into dawgs, yo.

Which is exactly why we took the fun of a skewer and pieced it together with all the best hot dog fixins for this great American holiday. These All-American Skewers are the perfect way to serve up so flava, so everyone at your BBQ can get their savor on.

Best yet, these suckers are sooo easy to make! Check it out.

Grab your favorite hot dog fixin's. Pickles. Pineapple. Onions. And hot dogs, of course.

Ingredients for Hot Dog Kabobs

Thread them onto skewers.

Tip: To keep your skewers from burning, soak them in warm water for an hour or two before you fire up the grill.

Then, get grillin'! Toss your skewers onto a medium-hot grill and cook until light brown.

Hot Dog Skewers on the Grill

Stick your skewers right into a hot dog bun, secure gently, and remove the skewer for an instantly fixed hot dog sensation!

All-American Hot Dog Kabobs

Ingredients

4
hot dogs
8
small slices purple onion
8
small pickle slices
4
small pieces fresh pineapple
4
hot dog buns
ketchup
& mustard

Directions

  • 1 Slice each hot dog into four pieces.
  • 2 Thread the hot dogs into skewers, with onions, pickles, and pineapple slices between each piece of hot dog.
  • 3 Grill until the hot dogs are golden brown.
  • 4 Serve by placing your skewers on a bun, then sliding the skewers out and leaving the hot dog pieces and fixin's on the bun.
  • 5 Garnish with ketchup and mustard.
