Better Than Sex Red Velvet Cake

Everybody's favorite cake gets a hearty twist in this delicious red-velvet and chocolate-covered-strawberry version.

Ingredients

1
box Betty Crocker™ SuperMoist™ red velvet cake mix or Devils Food Cake
2
teaspoons Betty Crocker™ red gel food color
3
eggs
1
cup water
1/2
cup canola oil
3/4
cup sweetened condensed milk
3/4
cup strawberry syrup
1
can Betty Crocker™ Rich & Creamy™ cream cheese frosting
1
(8 ounce) tub whipped topping
3/4
cup milk chocolate chips
1 1/2
tablespoons coconut oil
1
cup strawberries, hulled and halved
1/4
cup dark chocolate, chopped
1/3
cup candy-covered chocolate pieces (like M&M's® chocolate candy)
1
tablespoon red sprinkles

Directions

  • 1 Preheat oven to 350ºF.
  • 2 In a stand mixer, beat together cake mix, gel coloring, eggs, water and oil. Pour into a well-greased 9x11-inch baking pan. Bake until the center springs back when touched lightly, about 22-26 minutes. Cool cake completely.
  • 3 Use a straw to poke holes about 1 inch apart all across the top of the cake. Drizzle cake with sweetened condensed milk and strawberry syrup, allowing sauces to seep into the holes. Refrigerate for 20-30 minutes.
  • 4 In a stand mixer, whisk together cream cheese frosting and whipped topping until light and fluffy. Spread mixture on top of cake.
  • 5 In a small bowl, melt chocolate chips and coconut oil together. Allow to sit until cool to the touch, then drizzle across the top of the cake. Press strawberries into the topping. Sprinkle with chocolate chunks, candy pieces and sprinkles. Refrigerate just until set.
  • 6 Allow cake to sit at room temperature for 15-30 minutes before serving.

A vibrant twist on the classic Better Than Sex Cake just for the holiday of love...

As prepared by Cheeky Kitchen,

You will adore every bite.

There’s a new guy in town and his name is Red Velvet Lover. Sexy, creamy, and full of chocolate-covered strawberry-ness, you’re gonna want to get your hands on this cake.

A vibrant twist on classic Better Than Sex cake, this version is fruited, drizzled with strawberry syrup, and topped with chocolate every which way. You’re going to adore every bite.

Better Than Sex Red Velvet Cake

Grab a box of Betty Crocker Red Velvet Cake (Devil’s Food Cake will work, too!). Get some gel coloring, as well. Because bam on the red color, baby!

Mix together and bake until fluffy and golden... or is that fluffy and ruby?

Poke the top of your cake all over with a straw. Then drizzle it up with some sweetened condensed milk (AKA: The Stuff O’ Love and Creamy Goodness).

And now, for the piece de la resistance – strawberry syrup goes inside the poked holes, too. Drizzle, drizzle fo shizzle.

The whole cake now gets chilled, then topped with the most fluffy-delicious mixture of whipped topping and frosting and happiness.

Then a gentle chocolate drizzle finds its way into the heart of your soul.

And if that wasn’t happy enough, top it all with strawberries. And candy. And chocolate. And that, my love, is the way of the wonderful.

Chill it and slice it. Then dig in!
