Deep Dish Pizza Bites

As prepared by Baker Peabody

Forget a full-sized pizza for the game, and make these pop-in-your-mouth Deep Dish Pizza Bites instead!

The season of football watching is upon us, and next to hot wings, pizza is probably one of the top football-watching treats! Make pizza that much more fun and party worthy by making them into Deep Dish Pizza Bites.

I’m not sure what makes mini food so fun but it totally is. I think we trick ourselves into thinking since it’s so small it’s not as bad for us….after all that’s why I always choose fun size candy (hehe).

You will wow your guest by going the extra step and making pizza (and really it’s so simple) instead of just picking up the phone and dialing for delivery. So step up your game day with these awesome pizza bite size snacks.

To make the Mini Muffin Pizza Bites:

First, preheat oven to 425 degrees and spray cavities of a muffin pan with cooking spray.

Cut circles from Pillsbury pizza dough.

Remove pizza dough from packaging and allow it to come to room temperature on a floured surface. Using a rolling pin or your hands, roll out into a thin layer. Using either a round cookie cutter or even the edges of a clean drinking glass, cut rounds out of the dough. You want the circle to be slightly bigger than the size of the muffin cup.

Stretch pizza dough to fit muffin cups.

Using your fingers, stretch the dough ...

... and, without tearing, press into muffin cups.

Place a piece of pepperoni at the bottom of each cup.

Place a pepperoni at the bottom of the cup. This will help prevent it from getting soggy.

Add cheese to the pizza cups.

Next place about 1/2-1 tsp. of pizza sauce on top of the pepperoni. Add Italian cheese blend (as much or as little as you like).

Add mini pepperoni pieces to top.

If you want more pepperoni either chop some of the larger up or use mini ones like the kind I found at my grocery to store (too cute).

Cheesy pizza bites baked and ready to eat.

Bake for 12-15 minutes depending on your oven.

You want the dough golden brown and the cheese melted and bubbly. Serve warm.
