As I was browsing in the grocery store last week, I saw some gorgeous holiday suckers. The bright red and green swirls caught my eye and I thought, “I wonder if we could somehow turn these into cookies
Meet my Holiday Swirl Cookies:
Actually, if you have cellophane on hand, they’re even cuter wrapped as little “candies." How great would one or two of those be on top of a gift of goodies?
These are actually super simple to make. I started by grabbing one of my favorite pantry staples, Betty Crocker Sugar Cookie Mix.
Prepare according to package directions, then divide dough into thirds. Tint one section with red food coloring and another section with green food coloring.
Roll out one section of dough into a 9” x 11” rectangle. Roll out the second section of dough into the same size. Repeat with third section of dough and stack all rectangles on top of each other. Roll all together into a log.
Cut ½” slices with a very sharp knife.
Place on greased cookie sheet and bake for 7-10 minutes at 375 degrees until barely brown. Let cool completely.
What cookies have you been making this holiday season?
