Refrigerated pizza crust becomes a perfect pocket for cream cheese cannoli filling. Topped with a rich chocolate drizzle and mini chocolate chips, you may never want a traditional cannoli again!

Ingredients

1
tube Pillsbury™ refrigerated pizza crust, thin variety
4
ounces cream cheese
1/2
cup ricotta cheese
1
teaspoon vanilla
Pinch cinnamon
1 1/2
cups powdered sugar
1/2
cup (8 tablespoons) butter, melted and divided
1
cup mini chocolate chips, divided

Directions

  • 1 Preheat oven to 350ºF. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • 2 Unroll refrigerated pizza crust. Cut into six 4 to 5-inch rounds.
  • 3 In a stand mixer, beat together cream cheese, ricotta, vanilla, cinnamon, and powdered sugar until smooth. Spoon into the center of one side of each pizza crust round.
  • 4 Fold each crust round over the filling, using a fork to seal the edges together. Place on prepared baking sheet. Baste calzones with 1/4-cup (4 tablespoons) of melted butter. Bake in preheated oven for 11-17 minutes, or until the calzones turn a light golden brown. Remove and cool slightly.

Step By Step

Sweet and creamy cannoli filling stuffed inside a flaky crust. Are you kidding?

As prepared by Cheeky Kitchen,

Easy little hand pies that are as sweet as sweet can be.

These gorgeous Cannoli Calzones are based on an amazing recipe that inspired us. Our little calzones fuse together two Italian classics in one little dessert.

Filled with sweetened ricotta and cream cheese, topped with a buttery chocolate ganache, and sprinkled with mini chocolate chips, these delicious dessert calzones taste like a warm cannoli flew fresh out of the oven and set up shop right in your tastebuds.

They’re deliciously simple and perfect for days when you’re craving a comfort food treat, but don’t wanna drive to the bakery.

Here’s how to make them:

Mini Cannoli Calzone

Grab a few quick basics. Pillsbury™ pizza crust, cream cheese, ricotta, powdered sugar, chocolate chips and butta.

Mini Cannoli Calzone

Unroll the pizza crust and use a little bowl to cut it into six 4 to 5-inch rounds.

Mini Cannoli Calzone

Whip up the filling by mixing the cream cheese, ricotta, and powdered sugar. You’ll also add a little vanilla and cinnamon—just for flavor's sake.

Your filling will be much fluffier than mine—that’s a good thing! After trying this recipe with egg, I discovered that the best filling is straight up cream and cream and cream. So just follow the recipe and you're golden.

Mini Cannoli Calzone

Now fold each round over the filling, and press a fork around the edges to seal.

Mini Cannoli Calzone

Transfer your calzones to a baking dish and preheat the oven.

And drizzle with a bit o’ melted butter.

Mini Cannoli Calzone

Once your cannoli come hot out of the oven, let them cool slightly while you prep the chocolate icing.

Mini Cannoli Calzone

Then drizzle, drizzle, fo' shizzle choc fizzle. Sprinkle with mini chocolate chips and your Cannoli Calzones are ready to serve!
