Zesty Lemony Cream-Cheese Frosting

This frosting is excellent on pumpkin bars, pumpkin cookies or spice cake -- or spread it between graham crackers for a quick snack.

Ingredients

  • 1 package (8 oz.) cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 2 cups powdered sugar, sifted
  • 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon fresh lemon zest

Steps

    With an electric mixer, cream butter and cream cheese together.
  • 2
    Add powdered sugar and beat until smooth.
  • 3
    Juice and zest the lemon. Add juice and zest to frosting mixture. Stir. Use immediately.

    Store baked goods with this frosting in the refrigerator.
