Green-Tomato Salsa

An easy-to-make fresh salsa using green tomatoes. You can vary the heat by adjusting the amount/type of chile. I love to serve with tortilla chips when we have friends over to watch football. 8

pound green tomatoes or tomatillos, chopped

tablespoons onion, chopped
1 jalapeno chile, seeded and minced
1/2
cup cilantro, chopped
2
tablespoons lime juice
1/2
teaspoon salt
1/4
teaspoon fresh ground pepper
2 avocados, pitted, peeled and cut into small chunks

Directions

  • 1 Gently combine tomatoes, onion, chile, cilantro, lime juice, salt and pepper in medium glass bowl. Add avocado and toss ingredients together.
  • 2 Cover and refrigerate at least 30 minutes prior to serving. Serve with tortilla chips (and your favorite margarita).
