Who says an appetizer has to be complicated or have long ingredients lists? Mozzarella Crescent Rolls are a delicious finger food-style appetizer with crowd-appeal. Best of all, it only takes about 20 minutes and two ingredients to make ‘em.
This is the sort of appetizer you serve before dinner, when you want something fast and tasty without a lot of fuss.
I really try to avoid fuss when it comes to dinner parties. It’s necessary – and a skill I’ve developed over time. Honestly, I used to stress myself out about planning parties. I would obsess over the menu, the schedule, the fine details. Fortunately, I have learned a few things about planning, executing and hosting parties.
For starters (literally), I opt for simple appetizers that are either prepped ahead of time, uncooked or super easy. These Mozzarella Crescent Rolls fall firmly into the last category.
They are made with Pillsbury Crescent Recipe Creations dough, which is a wonderfully adaptable base for a variety of appetizers like Feta and Tomato Crostini and Crescent Bacon-Cheese Tartlets.
The Crescent dough puffs up around the mozzarella stick, creating this fluffy outer layer with a crisp crust. But when you bit in, you find the center surprise: warm mozzarella cheese. Delish!
Serve these babies up as is … or offer guests a little marinara sauce for dipping.
