Almond Butter Frosting

This icing is perfect for cookies (like these Frosted Brown-Sugar Pecan Cookies), or as a drizzled glaze over coffee cake, spice cake or bars.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 3 1/2 cups powdered sugar, sifted
  • 5 tablespoon water, boiling
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract

Steps

    In a large bowl, mix sifted powdered sugar with melted butter. Add boiling water and mix until smooth. Add vanilla.
  • 2
    Add additional boiling water, one tsp at a time, if thinner consistency is needed (for glazing a cake or drizzling on bars, for example).
