Ingredients

  • 2 cups water
  • 1.5 cups cherry-flavored vodka
  • 1 box (3 oz.) Jell-O™ cherry
  • 3 envelopes unflavored gelatin
  • 6 tablespoons sweetened condensed milk
  • 12-14 maraschino cherries with stems

Steps

  • 1
Pour 1 cup water into a medium-sized saucepan. Add one 3 oz. box of cherry-flavored gelatin and mix. Sprinkle 1 packet of unflavored gelatin on top and let sit for 60 seconds. Whisk to combine and turn on medium heat until it comes to a simmer.
  • 2
When simmering, turn off heat and add 1 cup cherry vodka. Set aside in room temperature.
  • 3
Pour 1/2 cup water into a medium-sized sauce pan. Add 3 tablespoons sweetened condensed milk and mix. Sprinkle 1 packet unflavored gelatin on top and let sit for 60 seconds. Whisk to combine and turn on medium heat until it comes to a simmer.
  • 4
Add 1/2 cup of the red gelatin and cherry vodka mix. This should turn your gelatin mixture pink. Set aside in room temperature.
  • 5
Pour 1/2 cup water into a medium-sized sauce pan. Add 3 tablespoons of sweetened condensed milk and mix. Sprinkle 1 packet unflavored gelatin on top and let sit for 60 seconds. Whisk to combine and turn on medium heat until it comes to a simmer.
  • 6
When simmering, turn off heat and add 1/2 cup cherry vodka. Set aside in room temperature.
  • 7
Lightly grease a 9x13 inch cake pan. Pour about 1/4 cup of the red gelatin mixture into pan. Refrigerate until sticky and slightly set, but not firm (about 10 minutes).
  • 8
Next, add about 1/4 cup of the pink gelatin. Refrigerate until sticky and slightly set, but not firm (about 10 minutes).
  • 9
Next, add about 1/4 cup of your white gelatin. Refrigerate until sticky and slightly set, but not firm (about 10 minutes).
  • 10
Repeat until you get to your last 2 layers, then slice maraschino cherries in half horizontally. Pour next layer of gelatin on top and then place the cherries in rows of 4 or 5 (enough room to slice into squares later) on top, slightly submerged. Refrigerate until sticky and slightly set, but not firm (about 10 minutes).
  • 11
Top with one more layer and then refrigerate for an hour or two until completely set. When set, use a knife to cut 3 vertical strips into the gelatin. Gently lift out each strip with your hands (carefully, so you don’t break the gelatin). Slice around each cherry into squares. Refrigerate until time to serve.
