This holiday twist on gooey seven-layer bars starts with a Christmas cookie crust and packs plenty of chocolate flavor—three kinds of chocolate, to be exact. Pretzels add just the right amount of salty crunch.

More About This Recipe

  • This fun holiday twist on the classic seven-layer magic cookie bar is decadent, sweet and absolutely delightful.

Do you remember when you were a kid and your mom made the most amazing looking treats during the holiday season?

I mean, there were platters of cookies all season long in my house. It was pure heaven. Except for when I would accidentally stumble upon a cookie that I thought contained chocolate chips and it actually contained raisins. (That actually happened a lot, because my dad is apparently the world’s biggest raisin fan.)

I’m here today with a cookie recipe that does not contain the dreaded hidden raisin: Christmas 7-Layer Cookie Bars.

You’re going to need a pouch of Betty Crocker sugar cookie mix, butter, an egg, some pretzels, semi-sweet chocolate chips, white chocolate chips, red and green M&M’s™ candies, sweetened condensed milk, sweetened coconut flakes, and some Christmas sprinkles. Sounds like a lot of ingredients, but you’ll be shocked how easy this is to prepare.

First, mix together the cookie dough as directed on the package. You don’t even need a mixer for this!

Press that into a 9x13-inch baking dish and bake it up for about 15 minutes. The bars won’t be done yet, but don’t worry. They’ll go back in the oven soon.

Top the bars with chocolate chips…

    Coconut flakes...

    And sweetened condensed milk.

Arrange your mini pretzels over the top of all that goodness…

Sprinkle on your white chocolate chips...

    Then a layer of M&M’s™...

And then go to town dumping on some sprinkles! Isn’t this adorable?

This needs to bake for about 30 minutes and cool for a couple of hours. When you’re ready to dig in, you’ll have a sweet, gooey cookie bar that everyone will love!
