Ingredients

  • 1 can (12.4 oz) refrigerated Pillsbury™ Cinnamon Rolls with Original Icing (8 Count) or 1 can (12.4 oz) refrigerated Pillsbury™ Cinnamon Rolls with Cream Cheese Icing (8 Count)
  • 1/4 cup from 1 tub (16 oz) Betty Crocker™ Rich & Creamy Creamy White Frosting
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1/4 cup caramel ice cream topping, warmed

Steps

  • 1
Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Open the package of cinnamon rolls and unroll each one. Cut each piece of dough into 3 equal pieces. Roll into a ball between the palms of your hands.
  • 2
Add the melted butter to a small bowl. Add the cinnamon and sugar to a separate small bowl and stir to combine. Dunk each ball of dough in the melted butter and then roll in the cinnamon and sugar. Place on the baking sheet.
  • 3
Bake for 10 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through. Let cool 10 minutes.
  • 4
Fit a piping bag with a small tip. Heat the frosting in the microwave for about 10 seconds, just to soften it enough for piping. Fill the piping bag with the frosting.
  • 5
Stick the tip into the top of each ball and squirt in the frosting until you can feel the Cinnabon ball puff a bit.
  • 6
Top with caramel sauce, if desired.

More About This Recipe

  • Skip the drive-thru the next time you have a craving and make these Copycat Cinnabon Balls at home! Have I mentioned lately that I moved to a teensy little town in the middle of nowhere? Gah. I know. It’s all I talk about! Forgive me. The thing is, our fast-food options are limited. This isn’t always a bad thing, but it means it’s difficult to get my hands on those delicious Cinnabon balls that are basically cinnamon roll balls filled with oozy, melty frosting. I cannot resist oozy, melty frosting. So, I snagged some Pillsbury™ Cinnamon Rolls with Cream Cheese Icing and I set out to create my own ding-dang Cinnabon Balls. I was not disappointed! You won’t be either.
  • You can use the frosting that came in the can of cinnamon rolls or any flavor of canned frosting that you like! The world is your oyster. Jab the tip right in the cinnamon ball and squirt in some frosting. You should be able to feel the ball getting puffier and fuller as your squirt. Don’t overdo it or the frosting will ooze out when you remove the tip. Oh my. Can you even deal? Is this real life? What is going on here? I think I’m dreaming. Enjoy them just the way they are or drizzle some caramel right over the top.
