More About This Recipe

  • Popcorn balls are one of those classic Christmas treats that are perfect for a party or a gift.

This remix includes white chocolate, cranberry, and orange – one of my all time favorite holiday flavor combos.

This recipe is great because it can be made in just one bowl. So there are fewer dishes to clean, and the pop of red is perfect for putting in gift bags.

We start with ingredients! There’s the obvious crew of popcorn, butter, and marshmallows. We add our twist with orange zest, dried cranberries, and white chocolate.

To start it off we melt the butter in a really big microwave-safe bowl. Once it’s melted we toss the marshmallows in there so they’re coated with the butter.

A couple zaps in the microwave and we’ve got some gooey glue. Everything else gets tossed in there and mixed well.

To get them to the ball stage, we spray our hands with nonstick cooking spray so they don’t stick. Total magic. There are obviously no pictures of that because sticky marshmallows and cooking spray and cameras don’t play well together!

I went for golf ball sized popcorn balls and laid them out on some parchment paper to cool and harden just a bit. From there you can bag ‘em up and hand ‘em out!
