This classic New Orleans cocktail is boozy, bold and flavorful.

Ingredients
- 2 ounces rye whiskey
- 3 dashes of bitters
- 1 ounce simple syrup
- 1 dash of absinthe
Instructions

Step1Mix the rye whiskey, bitters and simple syrup and pour over ice.

Step2Pour the absinthe into a different glass, swirl it around so that it leaves a coating, and dump out any excess.

Step3Strain the whiskey mixture in the absinthe-coated glass and garnish with a lemon or orange peel.
