This classic New Orleans cocktail is boozy, bold and flavorful.

Ingredients

  • 2 ounces rye whiskey
  • 3 dashes of bitters
  • 1 ounce simple syrup
  • 1 dash of absinthe

Steps

    Mix the rye whiskey, bitters and simple syrup and pour over ice.
  • 2
    Pour the absinthe into a different glass, swirl it around so that it leaves a coating, and dump out any excess.
  • 3
    Strain the whiskey mixture in the absinthe-coated glass and garnish with a lemon or orange peel.
