Here’s one of the easiest ideas ever to feed a whole bunch of hungry mouths at your next party:
And best yet –it can be chopped, diced, sliced and prepped ahead of time so it’s ready the moment your friends appear at your door – making your party enjoyable not only for them, but for you, too!
First, start with some Old El Paso taco boats.
You can use crunchy shells or soft tortillas if you’d rather, but these boats are great for parties, making it easy for your hungry guests to fill ‘em up one-handed as they pick and choose from your taco-bar smorgasbord.
Put on some tunes and start slicing and dicing. Here are some ideas of taco fixings that make a great selection for a taco bar:
- Seasoned chicken or beef
- Red cabbage
- Black olives
- Cheese (a Mexican blend or your favorite)
- Lime wedges
- Tortilla chips
And for toppings:
- Sour cream
- Taco sauce
If you prep ahead of time, make sure to separate the food (you know, so your tomatoes don’t smell like onions later on), cover each with plastic wrap and refrigerate until serving time.
You could put the chicken or beef in a slow cooker to keep it warm until serving, or re-heat it just before putting it on the table.
Just before serving, heat the taco boats (or shells) according to the package directions. Arrange those along with all the fixings on the table. It doesn’t need to be fancy – just put it all out there and let the colorful food steal the show.
