Ingredients

  • 1 box Betty Crocker™ Super Moist™ Yellow Cake Mix or 1 box Betty Crocker™ Delights Super Moist™ Spice Cake Mix
  • 2 very ripe bananas
  • 1 can (16 oz) Betty Crocker™ Rich & Creamy Frosting Vanilla
  • Optional: dried bananas for garnish

Steps

  • 1
Preheat oven to 350°F. In a stand mixer or large bowl, beat together the cake mix, bananas, and 1 tablespoon of the vanilla frosting until well mixed.
  • 2
Spoon batter by tablespoonfuls onto a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake in preheated oven for 8-12 minutes, or just until the cookies set. Cool slightly before removing from baking sheet and transferring to cooling rack.
  • 3
Spoon frosting into a plastic zip-top bag. Microwave for 10-15 seconds, just enough to soften the frosting, then snip a small corner from the frosting bag and drizzle over cooled cookies.

More About This Recipe

  • Three ingredients and you've got cookies? Banana Bread Cookies? You better believe it, babychickaroo! Once upon a time, a wondrous website decided to tell a delicious fairy tale. About bananas. Get on board, yo. It all begins with a box. Because sometimes you have to start in a box to think out of a box. (Cue tinkling sound effects.) In this particular story, the box is joined by two lovely friends: ripe bananas and a tub of vanilla frosting. (Cue friend joke: a cake mix, ripe bananas, and vanilla frosting walked into a bar…) The friends are tossed into a single batter, holding hands and laughing all the way, as if fairies had touched their little hearts with happy-dust. (Oh, come on. Just go with us. Now that we've started, there's no stopping the madness.) The batter is baked into beeeeautiful little tarts. (Okay, cookies. Tarts just sounded so much more fairy-tale-ish. We're narrating in a British accent, you know.) And the remaining frosting goeth forth to be drizzled across the top fore'rmore. (Cue orchestral swell. It's getting sappy now.) At once, a fair maiden spotted the cookies. She sighed. She cried. They were much too pretty to eat. But then she was like, “Oh no they're not!” And she piled them on a plate, grabbed a glass of cold milk, and promptly devoured them all in front of the latest episode of Honey Boo Boo. Theeeee End.
