Expert Tips

  • A strip of lemon peel makes a lovely garnish for this drink, so make sure to peel your lemons before you juice them!
  • If your honey is too thick to mix with the water and lemon juice, you can heat it up to thin it. Place the honey in a microwavable bowl, and microwave uncovered on High 15 to 30 seconds or until the honey becomes thin enough to combine with other ingredients. You may need to increase the chilling time since the hot honey will warm up the syrup.
  • Planning on taking this drink with you to the party? Bring the chilled honey syrup in a separate container, along with an unopened bottle of bourbon and chilled club soda. Combine them as instructed by the recipe just before serving.
  • The honey syrup can be made and kept chilled up to 3 days in advance.
