- A simple take on a classic dish, these easy stuffed cabbage rolls skip the majority of the pre-cooking and roll everything up before baking together in the oven. While other recipes require boiling the cabbage ahead of time in salted water, a quick trip in the microwave works wonders for softening the leaves so that they can be wrapped around the meat and rice filling. Make sure the cabbage you buy is fresh, firm and has no wilting leaves. And even though these rolls are stuffed with ground beef, other meats like ground pork, lamb or turkey can be used as well. This hearty, comfort food dish is so good, it’s going to roll its way straight into your regular rotation of favorite dinner recipes.
Easy Stuffed Cabbage Rolls

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup uncooked long grain white rice
- 1 cabbage head-rinsed
- 1 egg- slightly beaten
- 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 lbs ground beef
- 1 medium onion- chopped
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. black pepper
- 1 (28 oz) can crushed tomatoes-1/4 C reserved
Instructions

Step1Place cabbage in microwave and cook on high about 6 minutes. Let cool slightly and remove softened leaves. repeat this step until you have about 14-16 leaves.

Step2Mix beef, onion, rice, 1/4 C Reserved Tomatoes, Salt & Pepper and beaten egg. Roll into small, fat sausage shapes.

Step3Roll up in leaves and tuck in sides as you roll. Toothpicks can be used.

Step4Place in baking dish and cover with crushed Tomatoes.

Step5Cover with foil and bake at 350° F for 1 hr.
