Bring something new to the table with this quick Greek-inspired turkey seasoning. Use liberally to flavor turkey, chicken or any other poultry. MORE + LESS -

Ingredients

tablespoon kosher salt

tablespoon black pepper
1
tablespoon dried oregano
1
tablespoon dried mint
1
teaspoon dried thyme
1
teaspoon ground cinnamon
1
teaspoon garlic powder
1
lemon, zest only

tablespoons olive oil

    In a small bowl, combine all ingredients except olive oil. Drizzle oil over your bird and use clean hands to coat the outside thoroughly with oil. Rub the dry mixture liberally on outside of turkey (or other poultry).

    Place any remaining seasonings inside turkey cavity.

Expert Tips

Makes about 1/2 cup of rub (enough for 1 medium turkey).

You can whisk a few tablespoons of this seasoning mixture together with oil and vinegar and have a delicious Greek salad dressing!

This is a completely different dry rub. The flavors that really bring something new to the table are the cinnamon and mint. There’s no actual sugar in the rub, but it has an almost sweet flavor. You can use it liberally on turkey or chicken.
