Quinoa for breakfast? Hey—don’t knock it until you try it. We’ve abandoned traditional oatmeal in this breakfast bowl for a more protein-packed grain. Mixed with fresh fruit, it’s a hearty, healthy way to start your day.

Strawberry-Banana Breakfast Quinoa

Ingredients

  • 1 cup quinoa (rinsed)
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 banana
  • 10 strawberries

Instructions

    Mix the milk, quinoa, and sugar in a saucepan and bring to a simmer. Lower heat and simmer for about 20 minutes until quinoa is cooked and milk is absorbed.

    Dice up half the banana and strawberries and about 3/4 of the way through cooking stir them into the quinoa.

    After quinoa rests about 5 minutes, spoon into bowls and top with remaining sliced fruit.
