Ingredients

  • 2 large bananas, cut into two inch slices
  • 1 (6 ounce) container Yoplait® Original plain yogurt (any flavor)
  • 1 cup Cheerios™ cereal
  • 1/4 cup rainbow sprinkles
  • Whipped cream for garnish
  • lollipop sticks or straws

Steps

  • 1
Start by sticking your lollipop sticks or straws through the center of each banana, not quite to the very top. Place banana pops on a cookie sheet or tray and freeze for about 30 minutes.
  • 2
Once the bananas are frozen, open the top of the yogurt container and dip the banana pop in the yogurt making sure it is coated on all sides.
  • 3
On the bottom of the pop, place Cheerios in a row. Make another row of Cheerios about 1/2 inch above the bottom row. Gently shake the sprinkles in the gap between the two rows of Cheerios and on the top of the banana pop.
  • 4
Place on a cookie sheet and freeze until yogurt is hard. Serve with a dollop of whipped cream and more sprinkles.

More About This Recipe

  • These Cheerios Frozen Banana Pops are a super fun way to make your kids eat vitamin-packed fruit!

These Cheerios Frozen Banana Pops are a decorative version of my favorite frozen banana treat.

The concept of frozen bananas isn’t entirely new to my family. Usually we dip our bananas in chocolate and then freeze them. Don’t get me wrong; that version is really yummy. But these pops are healthified a bit by dipping them in yogurt instead of chocolate.

A single container of yogurt works perfectly as a bowl for dipping. I went for the rainbow theme here and dipped each of my pops in a different flavored yogurt, but you really only need one container of your favorite flavor to start dipping.

Next, add some rows of Cheerios to your yogurt covered bananas. This one here started off looking a little like Frankenstein’s head but with some added sprinkles in between the rows they come together beautifully.

Place the pops on a cookie sheet or tray and freeze until the yogurt is frozen.

I could hardly keep my kids' hands off these. They were begging for them, especially after I added a dollop of whipped cream and a splash of sprinkles!
