Make your own enchilada sauce in a blender with this deliciously simple recipe. Flavorful with a hint of heat, this sauce is based on an authentic family favorite.

Ingredients

  • 1 can (28 ounces) Muir Glen™ fire roasted diced tomatoes
  • 1 packet (1 ounce) Old El Paso™ taco seasoning mix
  • 1/2 cup olive oil
  • 1 jalapeño, seeded and destemmed
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1/2 onion, peeled and diced
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

    Place all ingredients together in a blender. Puree for 1-2 minutes, until very smooth.

Expert Tips

  • For a hotter sauce, add the jalapeño seeds to the mixture. For a smokier sauce, blend 2-3 chipotle peppers in adobo sauce into the recipe.
